American School, 20th Century Mayflowers Unsigned, identified on a label on the reverse. Oil on canvas, 8 x 6 in. (20.3 x 15.2 cm), in a signed and dated "Thulin 1947" frame. Condition: Minor loss u.c. N.B. In 1903, Walfred Thulin along with Charles Prendergast and artist Hermann Dudley Murphy started a frame making business in Boston, called the Carrig-Rohane Shop, Inc. The frames they produced were all handcarved and gilded, and were based on European designs.
