Zangerle and Peterson (American (Chicago) 1892 - 1974), first quarter 20th century. A Ladies & Gents French Louis XV style armchairs, both having a foliage carved rounded cresting downscrolled with applied flowerheads, the gents chair with padded upholstered back, sides and seats within curvaceous arms terminating in outscrolled knuckles raised on rocaille carved scrolling terminals, the ladies chair with open sides and downscrolled arms terminating in slightly outscrolled knuckles, both with a serpentine seat rail centered with scrolling acanthus and c-scroll uniting the front cabriole legs headed with acanthus and terminating on scrolled toes. Approximate height of gent's chair 37.25", width 32" (arm to arm), seat depth 20.5", seat height 16". Approximate height of ladies chair 37", width 26.25 (arm to arm), seat depth 19.5", seat height 16".
