A giltwood and tapestry upholstered fauteuil or armchair in the Louis XV style, the arched back decorated with central carved classical leaf motif flanked by rosettes, the molded curved stiles terminating in padded arms, kuckled handrests and curved molded arm supports, the back, arms, and seat upholstered in likely original conforming tapestry embroidered fabric depicting a bouquet of flowers with trailing floral vines within Baroque strapwork, in shades of ruby, gold, cream, and rose, sepentine seat rail decorated with carved central shell flanked by trailing vines, resting on four molded cabriole legs, the front legs headed by patera carved knees, on two front casters. Approximate height 39.5", width 25.5", depth 24.5", seat to floor 19".
