May Todd Aaron (American, 1879-1967) In the Trader's Store Initialed "MA" l. r., inscribed (in pencil) on the reverse. Charcoal on paper, 9 x 13 in. (22.8 x 33.2 cm), unframed. Condition: Toning, tears and creases to edges. N.B. The above is an original illustration for Wah'Kon-Tah, The Osage and the White Man's Road , by John Joseph Mathews, 1932. The lot is accompanied by a copy of the book where the above is reproduced on page 249.
