Reverend John Booth, (American, 19th century) Indian Settlement at Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1833. Signed "Rev. John Booth," l.r. Pen and ink on paper, sight size 10 x 13 in., framed. Condition: Stains, couple tears, crease. Note: Two notes affixed to the reverse relate how the writers' grandfather and great-grandfather Elias Comstock, (son of the first Baptist Minister of the first Baptist Church in the territory), traveled with the artist, Reverend John Booth from Pontiac Michigan, to visit a mission in Grand Rapids in 1832 which he then later sketched and gave to Comstock's wife.
