Northwest Coast Polychrome Carved Wood Forehead Mask, c. late 19th century, representing a bear, with commercial mirror eyes, separate carved ears attached with square nails, remnant hide attachment at lower edge, red, black, brown, and white pigments, (wood loss, large crack down one side, one eye missing), lg. 13 in. Provenance: Collected by Howells Frechette while prospecting in northwest Canada before 1920.
