Historic California Coiled Basketry Bowl, Mission, with flat bottom and inward sloping sides, the simple design remaining on the inside but faded on the outside, original label on inside reads "Made by Ramona, the Heroine of Helen Hunt Jackson's tale in Ramona. She is living and is a Cahuilla Indian about 45 years old (1902)," ht. 2 1/2, dia. 6 1/4 in. Provenance: Collected by Mr. William H. Sawyer between 1902 and 1908.
