Northern Plains Two-Case Polychrome Parfleche Container, Crow, c. 1870s, the larger form of buffalo rawhide painted on the front with classic Crow hourglass and diamond devices, the flap decorated with red and blue trade cloth edged with white seed and pony beads, the sides with trade cloth bindings and long buffalo hide fringe; the canoe-shaped upper pouch with similar decoration, the painted rawhide strap with scalloped edging, overall lg. 44 in.
