Wallace Hartley, Orchestra Leader, R. M. S. Titanic, a rosewood drumstick, used by Hartley when conducting, together with a Memorial Card from his funeral. Provenance: Evalena Hartley Ross (1861-1940) cousin of Wallach Hartley, and thence by descent. Family history states that this was sent to the family after the sinking of the Titanic as a keepsake. Wallace Hartley, born in Colne, Lancashire, in 1878. His body was found after the sinking and returned to Colne where he was given a hero's burial and a memorial was erected to him in the town.
