Luscombe, c. 1899, with a pair of plaster oxen pulling a hogshead of tobacco, with an African-American driver, on mahogany plinth base, wd. 37 in.; with a similar interchangeable model of a stone roller in wood frame with European driver; and a similar diorama of a Philippine ox cart, possibly by Luscombe. Note: Watkins refers to the first model in his letter to Church of October 1899, "He is making two models illustrating the rolling load..."
