Italian, 18th century, after Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino's (Italian, 1483-1520) "The Madonna and Child with the Infant Baptist (The Garvagh Madonna)" dated 1510 that is currently housed in the National Gallery in London, England. Painting depicts a seated Madonna in red drape and white blouse holding a nude baby Jesus in her right arm as he points down at a toddler John the Baptist who reaches around Mary's left arm. In front of a mountainous green landscape, set within a faux oval painted medallion. Apparently unsigned, inscribed on verso of canvas "Raphael". Framed 40.25" x 32.25", unframed 36.25" x 28.25". Provenance: Purchased from Russell, Baldwin & Bright, Leominster, U.K., June 7, 1989.
