English, late 18th/ early 19th century. A Spode (England, 1770- ) New Stone soup tureen (dated prior to 1833) decorated on graystone with under glazing of stylized pink chrysanthemums, orange orchids, blue leaves, and bees, with over painted decoration in gold leaf, with double side loop handles in cobalt with gold leaf accents, an inner border of flowers and branches, and a lid with similar decoration topped by a cobalt and gilt loop handle. Marked on bottom " Spode, New Stone". 11" tall x 9" diameter of opening.
