Silk Needlework Memorial Picture, possibly Scituate, Massachusetts, early 19th century, silk threads on a silk ground, oval format, depicting two women, one holding an anchor, grieving beside an urn-topped monument with pen and ink lettering "Israel Vinal AEt. 42/Rebecca Vinal AEt. 20/Lydia Vinal AEt.17," flanked by a weeping willow tree with distant ocean and hill with a church at the summit, watercolored sky, indistinct inscriptions below one reading, "For Sophie Vinal," (stains), 14 3/8 x 17 1/2 in., unframed.
