Polychrome Painted Carved Wooden Indian Tobacconist's Figure, attributed to Thomas V. Brooks (1825-1895), Chicago, c. 1880, the standing figure wears a feathered headdress, a powder horn tucked into his feathered apron, and moccasins, holding a rifle in one hand and a bundle of cigars in the other, mounted on a wooden plinth, ht. 5 ft. 8 in., wd. dp. Provenance: This figure was once owned by Henry Morgan of television's What's My Line . The figure was left to his friend inscribed on the back of the pedestal, and later purchased from his friend's widow.
