Pierre Auguste Renoir (French, 1841-1919) Pont sur la Seine /A Double-Sided Drawing Signed "Renoir" l. l. Graphite on paper, sight size 11 1/2 x 18 1/2 in. (29.2 x 46.9 cm), framed. Condition: Toning, handling marks, not examined out of frame. N.B. The lot is accompanied by two photo certificates, one from Philippe Cezanne, the other from Francois Daulte. Although Renoir is one of the most well known Impressionist painters, he did not stay with that style permanently. In the 1870s, his style became softer and less Impressionistic, with a more subtle palette, and by the 1880s, he began using a more linear style rooted in preliminary drawings, with an even paler palette.
