After Pieter Brueghel, the Elder (Flemish, c. 1525-1569) Superbia/Pride , from SEVEN DEADLY SINS , 1558. Signed and inscribed "P. brueghel-Inventor-" in the matrix l.r., label from E. Weythe, Inc., New York, on the reverse. Engraving on paper (late impression), 9 x 11 3/4 in. (22.8 x 29.8 cm), framed. Condition: Trimmed, toning, not examined out of frame. N.B. The lot is accompanied by a graphite drawing copy after an eighteenth century engraved portrait.
