Rare Large Sur-Plateau Movement, c. 1820, with two sets of eighteen teeth playing simultaneously on both sides of 2-inch diameter disc, enclosed spring and gear-train with air-brake, on brass bedplate with canted corners, 3 x 4 in., (missing one tip). Note: The unusually large disc plays a long single air plays continuously without an apparent break in the pinning. There is no indication of the style of the original case, although the quality and size of the movement suggests that it would have been in an impressive setting, possibly with an automata element.
