John Taylor Arms (American, 1887-1953) Lot of Seven Prints and Studies From the Demonstration Series : Somewhere in Warwickshire, 1949, two impressions plus the pencil sketch (Fletcher, 417); Church of Saint Aignan, Chartres (Sketch), 1950, two impressions of the second state (Fletcher, 421); Ceignac (Aveyron), 1950, a trial proof and regular impression of the second state (Fletcher, 422). Each signed and dated "John Taylor Arms..." in pencil l.r., most annotated and dedicated to Hillman or his partner beneath the image. Etchings on paper, plate sizes approximately 3 3/4 x 5 3/4 in. (9.4 x 14.6 cm), matted, unframed. Condition: Some with toning, creasing, and/or fox marks. Provenance: The estate of Ernest Hillman, Jr., Fairfield, Connecticut.
