Carved and Engraved Powder Horn and a Shot Pouch, early 19th century, the powder horn with fluted neck above engraving with a heart enclosing the initials "AB," over an arch with twenty-four stars, a spreadwing eagle with American shield, arrows, sprig and a banner inscribed "E PLURIBUS UNUM over another arch inscribed "VIRTUE LIBERTY & INDEPENDENCE," above a ship flanked by a man holding a flag and a woman next to a partial anchor, both of them grasping the ends of a bowknot; a serpent snakes up part of the side, with mahogany butt plug; together with a brass and embossed leather shot pouch, with woodland scene, (imperfections), lg. 10, 9 3/8 in.
