Paint Decorated Oak and Iron Child's Sled, America, late 19th century, the sled decorated on the seat with the name "Robert J. ," stenciled flowers, and linear flourishes, iron runners with scrolled tips, (minor wear), ht. 7, wd. 12, lg. 42 5/8 in. Note: The name "Robert J." refers to the "Pacing King" race horse who was known for his record of 2:01.50 and was the subject of three Currier & Ives prints in 1894.
