Chippendale Carved Mahogany Slant-lid Desk, Boston area, 18th century, the lid opens to an interior of valanced compartments with serpentine dividers which flank the veneered prospect door and document drawers with applied columns above two tiers of drawers, some serpentine and blocked on a case of graduated drawers with cockbeaded surrounds above a molded base and ball and claw feet, the front feet with leaf carved brackets, old surface, replaced brasses, (repairs and minor surface imperfections), ht. 43 1/2, wd. 39 1/2, dp. 19 1/4 in.
