Four Pieces of Jewelry, America, 18th or 19th century, an oblong gold brooch with seed pearl border, centered with a lock of braided hair, the reverse of the frame engraved "C. Q. Wendell from Jamie"; a small oblong gold pin with seed pearl border, yellow faceted glass over foil at center, the pin engraved "JW" on the reverse; a small rectangular jet and gold mourning pin engraved "M- Wendell" on the reverse; a gold mourning ring with jet beads framing a lock of braided hair, engraved "J & ME Wendell Mt March 20 & April 291826," (solder repair on small mourning pin). Provenance: Descended through the Wendell family of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, to the present owner.
