Polychrome Painted Wooden Pointer Weathervane, America, late 19th or early 20th century, the dog painted brown and white with red studded collar on a rust, brown, and tan painted base, cast iron directionals and roof mount, no stand, (weathered surface, loss to part of one foot), ht. 37 1/2, lg. 27 3/8 in. Provenance: This weathervane came from one of the Ames estate buildings in North Easton, Massachusetts. The Ames family was noted for their philanthropic works.
