Federal Mahogany Inlaid Tall Case Clock, Simon Willard, Roxbury, Massachusetts, c. 1800, the pierced fretwork joining brass finials on reeded plinths above the arched cornice molding and glazed tombstone door opening to a polychrome iron dial with a bird in a nest in the arch, grape and strawberry spandrels, seconds hand and calendar aperture inscribed "S. Willard," and eight-day weight-driven brass stop-fluted columns on a molded tombstone waist door flanked by reeded brass stop-fluted quarter-columns on string-inlaid base and ogee bracket feet, old refinish, (minor imperfections), ht. 89 in.
