Charles Courtney Curran (American, 1861-1942) The Sunlit Valley Signed and dated "CHARLES C. CURRAN, N.A. 1920" l.r., titled and indistinctly inscri bed on the stretcher. Oil on canvas, 30 x 20 in. (76.7 x 51.2 cm), unframed. Condition: Blind lining (possibly done by the artist), subtle surface grime, craquelure. Exhibitions: Ninety-sixth Annual Exhibition, National Academy of Design, New York, March 5 - April 3, 1921, number 168. N.B. This painting was painted in Cragsmoor, New York, in September 1920, and will be included in the forthcoming catalogue raisonne on Curran by Kaycee Benton.
