Diamond and Gem-set Bracelet, set with oval faceted and cabochon ruby, emerald, sapphire, and full-cut diamond and champagne diamond blossoms, carved buds, and leaves, approx. total diamond wt. 27.98 cts., platinum and 18kt gold mount, lg. 7 1/2 in., made by Anna Bachelli. Note: Anna Bachelli was a gifted designer and skilled craftsman of highly original jewelry who worked in Turin, Italy. She designed and executed jewels for Buccellati and Van Cleef & Arpels, and also maintained a base of private customers, supplying jewels to clients as far away as Russia, even during the World War II ban on precious metals use. Diamond florets and other natural motifs are typical of her work. As seen on the reverse of this bracelet, Bachelli's superior craftsmanship is evident in her fine flexible bi-color gold wirework settings, joined by the distinctive gold knobs that are a hallmark of her technique. For other examples of her work, see lots 474, 480, 481, 499, and 500.
