Bronze and Diamond Bracelet, the hinged bangle designed as a network of intertwining branches highlighted by bezel-set full-cut diamonds, designed by Michele Oka Doner, with pleated silk and suede presentation pouch. Note: Michele Oka Doner is an award-wining and critically acclaimed contemporary artist noted for her dramatic sculptures and monumental public installations of art inspired by organic forms and found objects. Two of the artist's signature works are her Miami International Airport concourse installations, "A Walk on the Beach" and "From Seashore to Tropical Garden", two white terrazzo floors highlighted by marine, floral and foliate bronze sculptural elements, abalone shells, and mother-of-pearl fragments. Oka Doner's work is found in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Cooper Hewitt National Museum of Design-Smithsonian Institution, where the artist will exhibit eight works in the upcoming Triennial of March 2003. The artist has designed a small number of jewels, executed in very limited numbers. This bracelet is one of five.
