Northwest Persian Long Rug, last quarter 19th century, column of fourteen alternating palmette and rosette medallions surrounded by small floral motifs in red, rose, navy blue, ivory, gold, brown, aubergine, and blue-green on the midnight blue field, gold rosette and leaf motif border, (cut, creases, small areas of wear, repairs, guard strip partially missing from both ends), 22 ft. 5 in. by 3 ft. 9 in. Provenance: Sold to benefit the acquisition fund of a New England art museum.
