Early French Bisque Character Lady Head, c. 1860s, blue painted intaglio eyes, red line above, stroke and dot gray-brown eyebrows, long aquiline nose, open-closed mouth with molded painted teeth, slight smile and dimples, extremely fine modeling, mold lines on face suggest a four-part mold, deeply sculpted ears, (light half-inch hairline at crown), swivel neck on shoulder plate with suggestion of molded bosom, reflective of seldom-seen Cruchet doll, ht. 4 3/8 in.
