Papier-mache Shoulder Head Lady Doll with Apollo Knot, Germany, c. 1830, painted features, blue eyes, hair in classic wide three-section hairdo with braids over molded comb at top back of head, (head and hair in original paint, shoulder repainted to chin), kid body in milliner's model style, wooden lower limbs, (repair to knees, one foot missing), appropriately redressed in cotton print with 1830s gigot sleeves, ht. 10 1/2 in.
