Large Silverplated Suffolk Downs Massachusetts Handicap Trophy, 20th century, covered urn form, the lid with figure of jockey on galloping horse, with angular dimpled handles, and trumpet foot, engraved for The Massachusetts Handicap, June 22, 1985, won by Bounding Basque, with ovoid black plastic base set with four plated figures of Minutemen on guard, and with metal band, engraved with the names of the jockey (A. Graell), and trainer (W. Sedlacek), ht. 25 1/2 in. Note: The engraving to the base also notes the time of 1:47 3/5 as being a new track record.
