Hygrodeik by N. M. Lowe, Boston, dated 1867, with wet and dry thermometers, humidity chart and pointer, in Reformed Gothic style cast iron frame with gilt decoration, on marble base, ht. 13 in. (lacking reservoir). The A. J. Wilkinson & Co. Catalogue of Hardware and Tools of c. 1867 illustrates this instrument as Edson's Hygrodeik as being "for hygiening and mechanical purposes".
