Chinese, likely third quarter 19th century. Vase of rectangular form with cylindrical neck and foot, opposing sides with hand painted landscape scenes, one with two deer below a flowering tree and the other with a bird's eye view of buildings beside the sea, each with black calligraphic marks, the other opposing sides with applied ring handles in the form of scarabs or winged insects surrounded by calligraphic marks in red and black. Marked to underside with six character red seal mark Da Qing Tongzhi Nian Zhi (1862-74). Overall approximately 10 3/8" tall x 5 3/4" wide x 2 1/4" deep.
