Four Overture Musical Box By F. Lecoultre, 1836, No.11484, with 11 1/4 x 3 1/4-inch cylinder, key-wind movement and Berens, Blumberg & Co. tune card, in veneered case with shaped fruitwood escutcheon, wd. 19 in. The selections are Auber's Cheval de Bronze , Balfe's The Siege of Rochelle , Rossini's L'Italienne in Algeri and Cherubini's Anacreon . This particular tune card, which has been modified from Trois to Quat, is illustrated in Anthony Bullied's Tune Sheets , number 63, where he describes it as having very "up to date" tunes as the first two works were premiered in 1835. He also remarks that the works of Cherubini "is rarely heard on musical boxes."
