Two Pieces of Art Pottery, attributed to Gay Head Pottery, known today as Aquinnah, Massachusetts, bowl and planter with striated bands of clay in red, yellow, black, cream, brown, and rust, unmarked, respective ht. 2 1/2, 4 in. Note: Gay Head is known for its rich clay deposits. Native Americans (Wampanoag tribe) have used the clay for pottery for many years, as well as selling and bartering it.
