American or British School, 19th Century Death of Napoleon. Possibly signed, but indistinctly, "Amran Denton(?)" l.c. Watercolor, pen and ink, and graphite on paper depicting the emperor on his deathbed, surrounded by various family members and military officials, 7 7/8 x 9 3/4 in., framed. Condition: One figure cut out and laid down, toning, small tear c.r., not examined out of frame. Note: Inscribed and affixed to the reverse is a note reading: "Drawn for and belonged to James Vincent Clark b. 9-26-1784..." and lists several people in the family line ending with "Robert Shoemaker b. 3-2-1892."
