Federal Gilt Gesso Eglomise Mirror, Boston, Massachusetts, 1815-20, the molded cornice with acorn drops above engaged spiral columns flanking the eglomise tablet showing a naval engagement of American and British warships bordered by a foliate silver and red border on light green above the mirror glass, (minor imperfections), ht. 38, wd. 18 in. Note: Label affixed to the backboard is inscribed "I give this very old looking glass to my cousin John D. Bates. It belonged to our grandparents. Lavinia B. Bates, Concord, Mass."
