Two Covered Paint Decorated Woven Splint Baskets, eastern woodland Indian tribe, early 19th century, both woven of ash splints, round form on square bases with domed fitted lids, decorated on the side with painted and stamped lobed medallions and floral and geometric designs in salmon and black, both lined with Rhode Island newspapers c. 1823 and 1832, (few breaks on the corners and rim of one), ht. 14, 12, dia. 16, 14 1/4 in.
