Grant for the Battle of Shiloh, circa 1862, large folio, sold by Applegate & Co., Cincinnati, Ohio, recounting events leading up to the battle and Grant's action during the conflict, 17 1/2 by 11 1/5 in. Note: Anti-war sentiment ran very high in Ohio and the Sons of Liberty (or Copperheads as they were called) were extremely vocal in their lack of faith in the unification war effort.
