Rococo Gilt Gesso and Walnut Looking Glass, northern Europe, late 18th century, the shaped molded cresting with foliate devices enclosing a reverse painted tablet showing a man in a powdered wig above the rectangular molded walnut veneered gilt-lined frame on a shaped pierced bracket, (imperfections), ht. 31, wd. 14 in. Provenance: A note affixed to the back indicates use of the piece in Marshfield and Pembroke, Massachusetts, in the 18th century.
