French, Late 19th century. French Empire style ormolu mounted and ebonized portico clock having a rectangular frieze mounted with berried laurel leaves over four tapering cylindrical columns centered with the bronze engine turned dial with silvered Roman numerals and moon hands, the bezel cast with winged griffins over a pendulum headed with opposing swans and circular leafy medallion, the base decorated with pierced gilt bronze appliques of a swan, laurel leaves and putti on rectangular plinth with four turned feet. Height 17.75", width 9.6", depth 5.4".
