Persian, 19th century possibly earlier. A page from an unknown text, possibly of poetic verse, with a hand painted courtly figural scene to left at center depicting many middle eastern men in robes and turbans seated in a garden setting, the men likely an illustration of the scene dictated in Arabic hand written text filling the rest of the page, the text being written in columns in black ink in a staggered pattern creating the illusion of chevrons covering the page, some text enclosed in yellow blocks to top and bottom of the figural scene. Framed approximately 18.125" x 14.25", sheet size approximatley 9.75" x 5.875".
