Attributed to Henry Schreiner Stellwagen (American, d. 1866) Three Watercolor Views. Unsigned. Watercolors on paper, the first showing Passaic Falls in Patterson, New Jersey, inscribed with title on reverse; the second, laid down on brown paper, showing a coastal scene with a house, two horse-drawn buggies, several figures, and a ship beyond, identified on the brown paper in indistinct inscription "Greenwich Point House/Tom Catching Catfish/Savannah Pacific Ocean July 1849"; the last, laid down on brown paper and identified lower right in inscription "'Canca' Candia--1837 M. Woolsey", ht. 9, 8 1/2, 5, wd. 14, 11, 6 3/4 in., unframed. Sold together with an unframed pencil on paper drawing identified in an inscription and signed l.r. "Pt. Praya - C. Verde Id. 1843 H.S.S." Condition: The first with losses along left side and upper edge, and minor staining, with tape residue on reverse; the second with minor toning and glued to brown paper; the third possibly faded and unfinished.
