Early Painted Tin Horsedrawn Open Carriage, probably by Eichner , Germany, late 19th century, with pair of dapple grays pulling a dark green open carriage with line decoration and painted coat of arms, the papier-mache driver in black livery, postillion rider in blue, and lady and gentleman passengers, (some general paint loss on carriage, some paint and harness damage, traces of manes), lg. 14 3/8 in. Literature: David Pressland, Pressland's Great Book of Tin Toys, pp. 36-37. Note: Eichner won medals for his prancing horse design.
