Early Key-Wind Musical Box by Ducommun-Girod, No. 7139, playing three operatic airs and an overture motif, the brass bedplate stamped Ducommun Girod and "puppy" foundry mark, with blued-steel comb screws (without washers), exposed controls, instant stop and plain fruitwood case with manuscript tune-sheet and brass pin feet, wd. 13 in., cylinder 7 3/4 in., with contemporary brass key. The airs are: Dans la Prairie Fraiche et Fleurie from Pre aux Clercs , Galopade de la Preciosa, Motif de l'Overture de la Muette de Potici, and Waltz No. 2 d'Oberon. There are approximately one hundred and ten teeth in the comb. Provenance: Formerly in the collection of Bryan Etches.
