Canivet, a Paris , hand-tinted and engraved with red, white and blue of the French tricoleur, the rose with scrolling foliate design in the cardinal points, the circumference scale divided 0-90 in four quadrants and the needle ring 0-360 , with blued-steel needle with agate hub and steel lifting-arm, in mahogany case with 6 1/4-inch lg. rectangular elevation sight, sliding lid with indistinct ink signature, and base with triple slide-on mounts, wd. 6 1/2 in.
