One pencil on paper, showing a variety of sailing vessels in choppy water, the foremost flying an American flag, 8 1/4 x 11 1/5 in., unframed, (paper yellowed, small repaired tear, traces of glue on reverse); one watercolor on paper, showing a small ship in a gale, inscribed "Launch in a Gale off the Coast of Japan" below image, 4 3/4 x 6 1/4 in., unframed, (vertical crease in center); one watercolor on paper laid down on brown paper, showing a house and figures with a lake and mountains beyond, titled on the brown paper above "on Lake Champlain," 5 3/4 x 7 1/2 in., unframed, (glue residue on reverse, scattered staining); one watercolor on paper, showing a ship at sail at night, dated on reverse "19th August 1851," and coordinates identified, 3 3/4 x 5 1/2 in., unframed, (glue residue on reverse); and two pencil on paper laid down on brown paper, each showing seaside scenes, one inscribed "El Mina coast of Africa" and dated "May 12th 1844", the other showing a well dressed man in the foreground, each 7 x 10 in., unframed, (each glued to backing, with small stains, and slightly yellowed overall).
