Federal Mahogany Carved and Mahogany Veneer Swell-front Bureau, Massachusetts, c. 1820, the top with elliptical front, molded edge, and ovolo corners above a case of four cockbeaded drawers, flanked by quarter-engaged columns, the capitals carved with floral devices on a star-punched background, continuing to reeded legs on vase and ring-turned feet, brass pulls appear to be original, old finish, (minor imperfections), ht. 42 1/2, wd. 42, dp. 22 in. Provenance: A typed label on the reverse reads "this piece of antique mahogany/ chest of drawers belongs to my/ cousin, Harriet Sherwin of/ Lynnfield, Massachusetts."
