Rare Rosewood Shelf Clock, Silas B. Terry, Terry's Ville, Connecticut, circa 1845-50, the case with flat molded cornice and hinged door with a tablet showing "Hancock House Boston" opening to an engraved paper dial inscribed by the maker and a brass thirty-hour weight-driven movement, all flanked by rounded corners, (minor imperfections), ht. 22 1/4, wd. 13 3/4, dp 3 in. Note: Silas Burnham Terry, a son of Eli Terry, made significant contributions to American clockmaking and the development of the American coiled clock spring.
