Swedish School, 1900 Portrait of Swedish Brigantine Hildegard. The inscription "HILDEGARD" Fran Bergqvara. Capt. P.A. Larrsson. 1900" painted below. Watercolor and gouache on artist board, 17 1/2 x 25 in., in a 20th century gessoed oak frame. Condition: Toning, mat stains. Note: According to the 1899-1900 Lloyd's Registry the Hildegard was built in 1866. A photocopy of the registry entry page is affixed to the reverse of the frame.
